What our clients are saying....

John and his team @ SCA DFW are the absolute best there is. Their knowledge of care providers is extensive and current. John walked us through every step of the process and followed up with us regularly. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I was referred to Senior Care Authority while Dad was in Rehab by the Rehab Facility where he stated that he was scared to go back to the Retirement Community he was living at the time. I called and initially spoke to Bart and he was such a comfort to speak with and talk about Dad to. He said he would either have John, the owner or Bonnie call me. Bonnie called me, we spoke and she got a feel for what we wanted for Dad. My eldest daughter and I met Bonnie the first weekend and visited 2 facilities. We me the next weekend and visited another 2 when we made the decision to move Dad to the 3rd place we looked at. Dad has since moved in and we are happy with our decision. I never could have done this without the assistance of Senior Care Authority. Thank you, John, Bart and most of all, Bonnie!

I highly recommend John Alagood with Senior Care Authority! My mother's life-altering situation was sudden. When I called John, I had no idea where to start, what to do...frantic and lost in the abyss of information overload is where I was at. John was caring and sensitive to my situation and gave me tremendous advice. I will never forget how kind he was during this stressful time. John was so thoughtful in asking questions about my mother first. He wanted to get to know her and her personality to be able to suggest a wonderful place for her to call home. He went above and beyond to help me with my mother. Thank you, John.

Just a few months ago, I had the privilege of working with Mr. John Alagood in an attempt to find the most appropriate housing for my husband should he require more care than I would be able to provide at home when he was discharged from his stay at a rehab facility. First Mr. Alagood came to meet my husband and briefly evaluate the level of skills needed for his continuing care. Then he took me to two differing facilities which offered much the same health care needs but one was set up more like a regular residential home with a 24 hour staff and 11 residents. The other was similar to a nursing home, but on a somewhat smaller scale. The same healthcare procedures were offered at both places and each appeared to be clean and the staff was very friendly. Both locations were in the area of my home, making my daily visits or overnight stays easier to maintain. The visits and details John Alagood provided were extremely helpful to me for making these kinds of life changing decisions. I am very grateful for his expertise and would recommend your service to my family and friends. Thank you so much, John.

This road in our lives can be very stressful. I know-I went down it with my mother. What KIND of service/care does my love one need? Where do I start? There are so many different types of care! I don't even understand what is happening! You don't need to walk this road alone! This is a wonderful group that will walk with you and guide you with not only information but understanding.

Many of us are going through the same thing in life........our parents are living longer or maybe a spouse that is now in need of additional care. I know because I have been in this position going on six years with aging parents. I checked out places myself, got confused and everyone made you feel like they were the best. The first two years were great in Independent Living. But when it was time for assisted living I learned the hard way. Their care has always been of the utmost importance with me and found out the hard way that a flashy place does NOT necessarily mean great care. When I realized that I had to be with my parents the better part of each day to assist in their care, I realized that it was time for another change. It was not easy to have to move them again but I then decided I would move them into a Memory Care with assistance hoping that I would not have to do this ever again. Oh, how I wish I would have known about Senior Care Authority of Dallas. My time has come now for another change, seeking a Hospice Service for my dad. I requested the assistance of Senior Care and received the BEST REFERRAL ever! This Hospice service has exceeded every expectation I could have had. I have such peace in my decision and know without a shadow of a doubt my father is receiving the best care ever. Thank you so much, Senior Care Authority for your support and assistance. I wish I would have known about your services years ago. Your staff is the BEST!

John Alagood is helping us. He is Great to work with! He is listening and asking great questions and reassuring our loved one that she is in control (very important for anyone, but seniors especially). We are very thankful to have the help looking at communities and understanding all of the aspects (care levels and financial). Thanks John!

I can not recommend highly enough the work of SCA. They are caring, personable, and highly professional in their services. Recently John (and his counterpart Rick in OKC) helped us through the process of finding a loving and caring facility for my parents in OKC. That was the great part, even with my parents living out of state, John did not exit the process, but kept up to date and involved as we worked with his out of state counterpart. My parents are settling in to their new place and we as their siblings are beyond grateful for John, Rick, and the Senior Care Authority team! Keep up the great work guys, you are making a difference in the world!

During the last couple of years, my family has had several occasions to seek housing options for my elderly parents. In the beginning, I had contacted the service advertised on TV by a prior morning talk show hostess. That experience was good, and having nothing to compare it to, I thought that was the standard others would be judged by.
However, I was referred to Senior Care Authority by an employee of a rehab facility where my Mother had briefly been a resident. I had no expectations beyond my prior experience, and I was amazed at the difference between the two services. My initial contact with Senior Care Authority was over the telephone and I gave them a price range to work within and an approximate location. They asked me questions about my parents’ personalities, likes/dislikes and their health issues/concerns. When my sister and I met with them, the presentation made by John Alagood (the owner of the DFW area location) just astonished me. Senior Care Authority monitors the state-reported safety records, care levels and resident satisfaction ratings of the assisted living, memory care, nursing home and licensed but privately-owned care homes of a metropolitan area, and then they rate all of the facilities based on the data that they monitor. We weren’t just given pictures and brochures of the facilities they had determined our parents might like, but we were presented with a notebook of information on their top choices for my parents (which included the data they used to determine the ratings), and we sat and discussed the options of each. Senior Care Authority set up the appointments with each of the facilities for us, and they attended the meetings with us--making sure to ask the questions that we had not even thought to ask. When we wanted to take our parents back to our top choices so they could have an opinion on the final choice, Senior Care Authority set up the follow-up appointments for us, too! They stayed in contact with us for every issue along the way (application, pricing negotiations, contract signing, etc.). They even gave us wonderful referrals to movers who specialize in the care and sensitivity involved in relocating senior citizens. Oh, and have I mentioned that Senior Care Authority does all of this at no cost to you? Their fees are paid by the facility you ultimately choose. Needless to say, my experience with Senior Care Authority was nothing short of fabulous, and coming from someone who has tried the other nationally-known service, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for housing choices for senior citizens.
